Voyages in Cornwall

We begin and end our sailing holidays in Cornwall in the seaside town of Falmouth.

A port rich in maritime history, it is the third-largest natural harbour in the world and is home to a thriving marine industry including local fishing boats, boat building and oyster dredging by traditional Falmouth oyster boats.

Just outside the harbour, the large Fal estuary gives way to a deep water channel which can be followed all the way up to Truro. Sail up towards Restronguet, St.Just or anchor off the picturesque town of St. Mawes.

Take a short walk ashore along part of the stunning southwest coast path, perhaps enjoy a drink in a local waterside pub or a glass of wine on the deck in the setting sun.

Cosy Saloon enjoy delicious local produce prepared freshly onboard

Picturesque coastal villages extend a warm welcome

A few miles to the southwest, the scenic Helford River lies within a Special Area of Conservation. With beautiful beaches, tropical gardens and the setting for Daphne Du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek, this is a favourite peaceful anchorage.

Twenty miles east lies the port of Fowey. We love it here and Eda always receives a warm welcome. This is a friendly working harbour full of traditional local boats.

Depending on the wind and weather, we may also anchor off the small fishing villages of Portscatho or Coverack.

This part of Cornwall often has warmer-than-average temperatures during the spring and autumn months. Abundant seabirds are frequently spotted and dolphins, basking sharks and seals are regular visitors to these waters.

“Absolutely fantastic experience. Spent 7 days with Mungo and Stella on the Eda, racing in the Falmouth Classics and then cruising the Cornish Coast. Mungo and Stella go way above the normal standards on Charter Yachts. They are genuinely warm, welcoming, lovely, people and clearly take pride in their boat and the care and attention they give to their guests.

Stella’s catering is absolutely fantastic, she cooked phenomenal food all week, from homemade crumpets to lobster, mussels, roast beef, and everything in between. I cannot recommend Eda Frandsen highly enough. ★★★★★”
