9 nights for £1995 per person

Join us for a true Scottish sailing journey as we venture North from our home port of Mallaig, to Stornoway Harbour on the Isle of Lewis.

This voyage gives so many options for fantastic sailing and places to stop along the way. Crossing the sea between the inlying islands and the Outer Hebrides, otherwise known as ‘The Minch”, we find ourselves with the full chain of Outer Hebridean islands ahead of us. From Vatersay, Barra and Mingulay in the South, to North & South Uist and the Sound of Harris and the hummocky mountains and wide open vistas of Harris and Lewis in the north. An archipelago of islands, each with their own distinct nature and heritage. Travelling by sea offers a unique perspective on this island chain, to the interconnectedness of its waterways, to the way that weather, wind and tide have formed both their geological appearance and the lives of those that inhabit them.

Share the local knowledge of our experienced crew, whilst immersing yourself in life onboard. Sample the culinary delights of our chefs cooking around the saloon table and take early morning swims in the pristine water of the Scottish Western Isles.

WEST COAST CRUISE

6 nights for £1550 per person

Join us onboard Eda Frandsen with Hannah Close, on a journey from Mallaig to Oban, to explore the cultural significance of the many archipelagos that extend from the shores of mainland Scotland.

Hannah is a writer, photographer and cultural curator working with islands and oceans. Her words are in the Dark Mountain Project and Centre for Humans and Nature and her viral images of the Hebrides are in the Guardian, Telegraph and Times. Hannah has produced courses for the transformative learning platform advaya, including 'KINSHIP: World as Archipelago' and she is now working on a new documentary film called Islandness, a film which explores the profound connections between people and place in a world in crisis.

A timely story exploring the essence of humanity amid the shifting tides of our times. – George Monbiot, Environmentalist and Author

Islandness reveals what islands can teach us about togetherness and our connection to the natural world and explores identity, community, spirituality, and practical aspects of island life. Hannah’s writing and studies explore not only island culture, but how the metaphor of an island can be used to mirror the way that all beings exist in tension between individuality and interdependence.

This 6-night voyage is suitable for all abilities, we do not require any specific areas of specialism, just the desire to learn about and discuss both the history and modern-day culture of island communities.
