Welcome to Eda Frandsen and the next chapter in her long and happy life!

Meet Stella & Mungo, Eda Frandsen’s new custodians, who, after spending many years sailing around the world are very happy to be returning to their native homes to fulfil their long-held dreams of sharing their skills, knowledge and sailing philosophy with a whole new generation of sailors.

After 8 years of ownership, James and Chloe have decided to move on to pastures anew and following an emotional handover in Penryn in September 2020, Mungo and Stella took up ownership of their new way of life!

You will see from the schedule that Eda Frandsen will continue to operate out of both Falmouth and Mallaig, where she will continue to offer ridiculously beautiful sailing holidays, to a backdrop of gorgeous scenery along with delicious local food all cooked in the galley onboard. Think homemade bread, freshly caught mackerel with a twist of Mediterranean desserts. Get involved as much or as little as you like with the hauling of sails, and witness the stunning landscape of the West Coast of the UK on a beautiful traditional sailing vessel.

Spending so many years at sea, away from your families teaches you a thing or two about what makes you happy and for Stella and Mungo, taking people sailing in their home waters ticked all of those boxes.

Their time spent working on luxury yachts around the world has given them an attention to detail that is second to none and nothing makes them happier than teaching new people the ropes. Their love of adventure and the outdoors is infectious, and at a time when all of us have spent plenty of time inside lately, they know that access to the true feeling of freedom that sailing brings, is something to be cherished.

So who are “we”?

Mungo and Stella have spent much of their lives working at sea. Having begun his sailing career with the Ocean Youth Trust in Oban, Mungo has gone on to work onboard some of the most iconic classic yachts of the modern age. He has spent a lifetime living out of a kit bag and has explored some of the most beautiful and remote locations on earth including the Galapagos, Pitcairn Island and Tahiti.

The two joined forces in 2017 whilst working on the construction of the Botin Partners cruising boat “Toroa” in Brooklin, Maine and haven’t looked back since.

When they are not sailing for work, Mungo and Stella like to take out Mungo’s smaller boat “Elrhuna” to enjoy in the sunshine.
