At 56ft on deck, 75ft overall and 15ft at her widest point, Eda is a perfect sized vessel for charter- small enough to nip into small unexplored anchorages, yet roomy enough on deck to be a joy to sail. There are three of us crew: Skipper, Mate and Cook, and we take eight guests sailing. With no winches aboard, we encourage everyone to join in, using block and tackle to hoist up to 2210sq ft of sail, as this is a truly hands on sailing experience!
We enjoy a relaxed and sociable atmosphere onboard and our plan for the week is flexible; we go where the weather takes us, meaning every trip is different. Each morning we will set sail to a new destination, find a secluded anchorage or bay for the night, and tuck into a feast around our saloon table. If you have any places you would like to visit we will do our best to include requests where possible. Have a look at our photos and videos for a taste of life onboard.
The areas we sail in are abundant in bird and marine life including good opportunities to spot whales, dolphins, basking sharks, eagles and large colonies of seabirds. Read more about our wildlife »
Eda is lovely and spacious on deck, with plenty of seating areas and a quirky saddle to sit astride when steering. The gleaming varnished woodwork and beautiful original features are hard to miss. She is incredibly seaworthy and stable in sportier weather, yet with all 5 sails set in lighter winds, is still quick and graceful through the water.
Below deck, Eda accommodates 8 guest berths in twin cabins, a saloon with sofa style seating and two heads (loos to you and I), one of which is also a shower room. A heating system keeps us cosy on chilly nights, and the engine room doubles up as drying space for damp gear. Each cabin is separated from the communal area by a privacy curtain and has two comfortable bunks with a personal reading light and stowage space for belongings. All bedding is provided. There is a small bosun’s locker at the front of the boat and a separate crew cabin at the back. A heated towel rail is great for drying and airing items and a 240v system ensures you can charge cameras and phones.
Freshly cooked food is produced from our tiny galley, which has the original burner from her fishing days as well as a modern oven and a large fridge and freezer. Dinners are very sociable around Eda’s beautiful saloon table. In fine weather, lunch will be on deck, either sailing or in a beautiful anchorage. The kettle is always on, and tea time in the afternoon is always accompanied with something sweet from the oven. See more about Food and Drink »
