Meet the Crew

Jamie has been involved with Eda since bringing her back across the North Sea from Denmark in 1991, during her conversion from fishing boat to sailing charter boat and now as both owner and operator. He has been sailing the waters of the Hebrides all his life and is an Ocean Yachtmaster Instructor. He is wildly enthusiastic about all aspects of traditional boats and loves sharing his knowledge. So whether it is boat building, sailing, astro navigation, knot tying or sea songs accompanied by his concertina then Jamie is your man. When he is allowed in the galley he can also create the most fabulous dinners on board.

Penny has been sailing on the South Coast since growing up on the banks of the River Dart. She also has a Yachtmaster. Penny is a talented chef who gave up her own restaurant to marry the man of her dreams and run away to sea with him.

Penny and Jamie first met on Eda and together we look forward to sharing with you our passion for our lovely boat and the amazing sailing ground that we operate in. You can be assured of a relaxed, yet professional attitude on board. Where the sailing is fun and immensely satisfying and the scenery along with the sailing ground are without doubt the best in the UK. All that then a fabulous meal with good company in the evening along with a glass of wine? Well that just speaks
for itself…..
