A truly memorable trip for a team of 21 year olds who have all just finished university. Some fantastic weather, lots of great sailing and the most enthusiastic fishing I think I have ever seen!

We have just finished a very wet but really sucessful trip with my kids on board. Life on Eda need not necessarily revolve around sailing long distances when there are crabs and lobsters to catch and beaches to swim off. A bit of walking the plank occasionally also helps to pass the time!!

The weather has finally come warm with the first wearing of shorts on deck. We also had some very enthusiastic swimming when the wind fell light. With the warm weather, the basking sharks have all come out with a vengence. We have seen large groups all feeding away happily which have had all the shutters clicking. Sadly all the pics I have taken have all turned out rubbish so here are a couple of Eda in full sail off the West of Skye in the most gorgeous of weather.

We have just finished a stunning week sailing in company with Ezra. It has finally warmed up and it was nice to dispense with the hats and gloves for a bit. The 200 miles we covered during the week were almost entirely under sail and the highlight was a visit to te Monach Ises where we has a really good sighting of a huge basking shark. The wind died during the final race but that did provide the opportunity for some lovely pictures.

First trips

A lovely if a little cold start to the season. We have had some great sailing and really sunny weather. We have helped a couple realise thier honeymoon dream of visiting Mingulay and saw hundreds of seals on the beach and the first nesting puffins of the year. Penny has been turning grown men weak at the knees with delights from the galley and Eda has been taking the wind in her stride and given some truly memorable sailing experiences to all.

Volcanic eruptions

Where entire countries flights have been grounded due to volcanic ash, it would take a lot more than that for Eda Frandsen to remain in port! She continues to ply her trade and do what she does best around the Hebrides. If you fancy a break from the stress of an uncertain economic climate, an election or the inevitable hype from the World Cup football tournament then a sail on Eda Frandsen might suit you nicely. You can drive or take the train to join us in Mallaig incidentally!
