Mary & I enjoyed a wonderful sail from Orkney to Mallaig in September 2009. I have just got round to producing a book on Blurb - it is really just for us to remember our time on Eda, but it can be previewed here http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/2370363 Hope it is of interest.
Hi Jamie and Penny,

You're absolutely right about Eda in the storms; having done 5 or 6 trips on her now I didn't have any concerns about her in big seas and/or high winds, but it was gratifying to have that confidence well and truly vindicated in the Force 10 and 100mph gusts on Monday 23rd May sailing from Isleornsay to Portree - it was EPIC! Congratulations to Jamie for his fine seamanship and to Penny for always providing wonderful food throughout that stormy week. Say hi to Faye.

I've admired Eda a few times when she visits Tobermory (I live there), and could be interested in the 16-22 July trip.
I've got a Day Skipper ticket, and my own plastic Hunter 232, but that isn't a real boat!

Queries: any idea where you are going? I suppose it's very weather dependant.
There will be only me- I presume separate berths in the double cabins? I snore; I don't know who you will inflict me on!
Regards, Phil

Don't know whether this is the correct forum but a note for Don- if it reaches him.

Hi Don you probably don''t remember me (Roy Morgan from Oxford) but i had the pleasure of sailing with you a couple of times on the Lorne Leader and then when she was sold I moved on to one trip on the Alpha and 4(?) on the Eda Frandsen. On the occassions I sailed from Mallaig I did try looking you up but whilst your working vessel was moored there you weren't- and you weren't in any of trhe pubs either!

Undortuntaly I had to pack in the sailing as my fitness didn't accomodate the rigours of sailing but puerly by chance I went on my retirement treat in Septemeber 2010 onto Isaly (which I visited once with you- The Coal Isla distillery to be precise and as I recall you weren't impressed as we all had the Customary dram but forgot to bring one back for the skipper- big mistake!!), Harris and Lewis. Anyway,on the way back over the Skye bridge I looked out over the sound as there was the Eda Frandesn- reminded me of the start of my adventures on the Lorne Leader. A few ramblings from an old acquaintance but some remakable memories. Glad to see you are still sailing and I hope keeping well

Jamie and Penny

I just wanted to say thank you for a fantastic week sailing on the Eda. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Good luck getting Eda out of the water. I hope it all goes well and according to schedule.

Please give my regards to Calum and Rachel.

Once I have processed the voluminous photos I took on the trip I will send you a link.

All the best

Jamie,
Great pictures, well done. Would love to see more. Wanted to say that it did not go unnoticed how much work and effort you put into the week. Whenever there was something needing done or someone needing help, I noticed (even if no one else did) that you were always there. I think deep down, under that gruff exterior you are really a very thoughtful guy. There, I've said it and I'm not going to say it again!
So, from me, thanks for making it a great week.
And...............it was great meeting Penny. She is a true gem, much too good for you! What a brilliant big smile.
